The new venture was founded by Kari Anne Donovan, P.E., and will provide objective, third-party building commissioning services for pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical customers. Services include testing, inspection, and documentation of building systems and equipment to ensure functionality according to design intent and client requirements.

In March, the company received national certification as a Woman’s Business Enterprise by the Women’s Business Enterprise Council of Pennsylvania, Delaware and southern New Jersey. The WBEC is a regional certifying partner of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council.

“I saw a significant opportunity to focus and expand our commissioning services beyond our current service portfolio. We will continue to work cooperatively with building owners, design teams and operations staff to solve problems while improving facility operations,” Donovan said. “Our strategic partnership with Precis Engineering gives us the depth of resources and engineering expertise to effectively meet the needs of our clients.”

Precis Engineering Principal Robert Dick, P.E., said Donovan has been integral part of the company’s team. “We know and trust her leadership and look forward to collaborating with her as a fellow business owner,” Dick stated.

Precis Commissioning’s staff includes registered engineers who have designed and overseen construction of the systems in the market that the firm will work alongside. It also has former field workers who have maintained and operated those systems.

“Our comprehensive background allows us to better tailor our service to our customers’ needs,” Donovan explained. “It affords us valuable perspective to increase client profitability and optimize operational performance.”
