Solar Usage partners with VaporGenics on hybrid heating and cooling system

The 1-ton split system will provide a/c and heating and is designed for the 1,200 sq. ft. or less market.

Solar Usage Now has entered into a partnership with VaporGenics in the development of a 1-ton hybrid heating and cooling system, which operates completely off grid. The 1-ton split system will provide air conditioning and heating and is designed for the 1,200 sq. ft. or less market.

VaporGenics is currently in negotiations with several residential providers to bring this product into the marketplace. A prototype will be introduced during the ASPE Convention and Expo in Charlotte, N.C. later this month. Future development includes a 3-ton and 5-ton unit. Once introduced, these will be add-on modules to existing SUN Equinox heating system commercial installations.

The SUN Equinox heating system is a pre-engineered plug and play hot water and space heating system that can be stand alone or solar thermal and/or heat recovery can be added to provide greater efficiencies. The SUN Equinox insures optimum inherent water-hygienic properties, eliminating deposits such as lime, sediment or rust. It is often referred to as the anti-legionella storage tank.

Current installations include five U.S. military bases, dozens of schools, apartments, restaurants, hotels and pools.

Other projects in the works

VaporGenics is currently developing other add-on modules: a 3 kW electric linear generation system, which will operate in conjunction with their hybrid heating and cooling system. This unit will also be targeted to the 1,200 sq. ft. or less market and be serviced by its residential partner. Future development includes a 10 kW system.

Smart Pumping -- The "New Normal" in Hydronics

AVAILABLE ON DEMAND The days of wasted electrical energy through poorly designed hydronic systems with low efficiency circulators are about to end. Modern circulators, with Electronically Commutate Motors (ECM), are here to stay. They are quickly becoming the “new normal” in hydronic system design. This webinar will explain the benefits these circulators offer, and show you how to best apply them in residential and light commercial hydronic systems
