The Uniform Plumbing Code and Uniform Mechanical Code Technical Committee meetings were held April 26-30 at the Adams Mark Hotel in Denver, CO.

The committees considered proposals on new materials and methods of installation as well as updating and adding product standards to respective chapters in each of the code documents.

Overall, 300 new UPC and 60 UMC proposals were considered for the 2006 code documents.

The actions taken at the meeting will now be balloted by both committees. All of the committees' final actions will be published in the Report on Proposals. The ROP will be prepared and distributed on or about August 15, 2004.

The ROP will be circulated so all interested parties can file comments, beginning in early October and ending on Feb. 1, 2005. A copy of the comment form will be published in the ROP, and a version of the comment form will be available on The IAPMO Group website. Once the comment period ends, all comments will be reviewed during the committees' April 2005 meeting.
