The Plumbing Manufacturers Institute (PMI) held its semi-annual meeting March 7-10 in Marco Island, FL. At the meeting, the Universal Conformity Assessment Issue Committee adopted a model plumbing code policy directing the institute to encourage adoption of model plumbing codes at the state and local jurisdictional levels. They also agreed to support uniformity among model codes and to encourage use of consensus standards. In other action, the Trade Show Consolidation Issue Committee unanimously agreed to promote the PMI statement supporting a consolidation of North American building products trade shows.
