Central Sprinkler Corp. announced that in order to settle the complaint brought against the company by the Consumer Product Safety Commission, it would agree to recall 8.4 million Omega sprinkler heads. Owners who respond will receive free replacement glass bulb sprinklers, along with reimbursement for the cost of replacing the sprinklers.

At press time it was unclear whether the recall would satisfy class-action lawsuits brought against the company in California and Pennsylvania. According to the Wall Street Journal, class action parties not satisfied with the settlement could opt out and pursue individual claims.
