BuildNet has announced a number of developments, including several partnerships.

BuildNet Inc., a provider of management software and e-commerce services to contractors and distributors in the construction industry, has announced that its PLUMBINGonlineT community signed an agreement with CareerSite Corp., an e-recruiting solution provider, to power PLUMBINGonlineJobs.com. The new site will focus on employers and job seekers in the plumbing distribution, manufacturing and contractor industry. Readers may recall that PME recently entered into an agreement with PLUMBINGonline to supply weekly news releases relevant to the plumbing industry to the PLUMBINGonline Web site.

Trip Giveaway: In related news, PLUMBINGonline announced that plumbing contractors, distributors and manufacturers that visit and register at PLUMBINGonline.comT between Oct. 1 and Dec. 15, 2000, will be offered a chance to win a 5-day Royal Caribbean cruise for two, including round-trip airfare, to the Western Caribbean Islands.

Partnerships: BuildNet and DMSi, a provider of business management software for wholesale building product distributors, announced a partnership to integrate BuildNet's e-commerce platform with DMSi software.

In other BuildNet news, the company announced a partnership with TradePower, a B2B digital marketplace and supply chain solution for the construction industry, to link BuildNet's e-commerce platform with TradePower's commercial digital marketplace.

TradePower's marketplace connects contractors and

suppliers through a neutral, centralized and integrated environment that enhances information exchange and simplifies the purchase and sale of construction supplies. The Web site can also be linked to distributors' and contractors' existing desktop procurement, estimating and project management systems.

BuildPoint also announced that it has opened a customer service center in Charlotte, NC. Customers can call Monday through Friday from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. PDT for assistance in using BuildPoint.com to send and receive bids, buy and sell construction materials, and use BuildPoint's online insurance and lending services.
