Webstone has done it again with a unique valve
system designed to save labor and aid in the maintenance of all hydronic systems.
As your customers know, to achieve
peak performance, hydronic systems should be periodically flushed with a
de-scaling/cleaning solution in order to eliminate any contaminant or scale build
up. Until now, this was done by draining the system, flushing it with solution,
draining the solution and refilling the system with new fluid, typically glycol
antifreeze. Contractors would accomplish this by plumbing an assembly
consisting of two boiler drains, two tees, two close nipples, and a ball valve.
Though functional, this method is far from ideal; requiring several
connections, each of which takes time and poses a potential leak path.
Today, Webstone offers a
single product that completes this process in just one step.
The New Pro-Pal Purge & Fill
is a 7-in-1 valve assembly consisting of a main ball and two hi-flow hose
drains that serve as purging and filling connections. When the main ball is
closed, and the purge and filling valves are opened, new fluid may be introduced
through one of the hose connections. Doing so displaces the old fluid in the
system by flowing through the system and out the second hose drain. Any
hydronic system can now be easily emptied and filled from one spot in a
fraction of the time. What was formerly a two-step process can now be completed
in one easy single step — with a valve that installs more quickly and with
fewer leak paths than the current fabricated method.
This full port, forged brass
valve can be used in a wide variety of heating systems, including solar applications
near the expansion tank or to maintain the primary or peripheral circuits of
any hydronic system.
