New NSF Standard Meets California Lead Requirements NSF Intl. has developed a new compositional standard for products that come in contact with drinking water, including faucets. The new requirements are incorporated into the NSF/ANSI American National Standard for Drinking Water Products. Annex G - Weighted Average Lead Content Evaluation Procedure to a 0.25 Percent Lead Requirement
allows manufacturers to demonstrate compliance to recently enacted legislation in California that limits the weighted average of lead content in plumbing products, which come in contact with drinking water, to 0.25 percent.
Taco, Inc. Acquires Innovex Technologies 
Taco, Inc. recently announced that the company has acquired the assets of Innovex Technologies, a Lewiston, ME-based manufacturer of Intelligent Building Systems products (IBS) including stand alone control devices and accessories for both residential and commercial buildings. According to president and CEO John Hazen White, Jr., the acquisition will provide Taco with a technology platform that will incorporate its existing line of pumps, hydronic controls, electronic control products, and LoadMatch heating and cooling system into a networked controls solution.
HeatLink Announces Dates of Advanced Seminars HeatLink Group Inc. has announced their first Advanced Seminars for 2009: Feb. 19-20 in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada; March 26-27 in Grand Rapids, MI; and April 23-24 in Calgary. HeatLink offers two types of seminars. The two-day Installation and Design Fundamentals course is designed for engineers, contractors, and wholesalers. T&S Brass and Bronze Works has promoted Gary Cole to the position of operations manager and added Brian Jones
as quality manager. Cole will be responsible for overseeing and managing the entire production department. Jones will be responsible for directing the quality assurance function, develop and control quality programs and be responsible for conformance to quality standards and procedures.
Rheem has announced the appointment of Michael Sentovich [photo] to vice president and general manager of Raypak, a manufacturer of commercial and residential boilers and pool and spa heaters. A veteran of the home improvement and building materials industry, Sentovich replaces
Peter Reynolds who was recently promoted to vice president and general manager of Rheem Water Heating. Sentovich will oversee Raypak growth in several critical areas including: residential and commercial sales, product development and marketing, engineering and quality assurance, information technology, manufacturing and customer service operations.
Uponor Corp.'s Board of Directors has appointed CFO and Deputy CEO Jyri Luomakoski, MBA, president and CEO of the Uponor Group and its parent company. Luomakoski has acted as CEO on an interim basis since Oct. 27, 2008, when the previous CEO Jan Lång left the company. Luomakoski has served Uponor since 1996, most recently as CFO and Deputy CEO. For more than four years, he has also been responsible for the company's municipal business in North and South America as well as in the United Kingdom and Ireland. |

National Disaster Reconstruction Expo & Conference to Debut In June
National disaster recovery and reconstruction experts headline the first National Disaster Reconstruction Expo's (NDRExpo) conference program, which launches June 17-18, 2009 at the Morial New Orleans Convention Center. The NDRExpo was developed to unite the numerous vertical markets associated with disaster preparation, response, recovery and rebuilding.
Keynote Address
FEMA's Assistant Administrator of Mitigation is scheduled to provide the NDRExpo's keynote address. As part of the agency's National Mitigation Directorate, the Administrator manages the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and programs designed to reduce future natural disaster-related losses. The keynote address will focus on how, through the National Mitigation Directorate, FEMA seeks to break the cycle of disaster damage, reconstruction and repeated damage.
General Sessions
AidMatrix Foundation's President and CEO, and former Wisconsin Governor, Scott McCallum is scheduled to lead Wednesday's General Session. AidMatrix Foundation is a nonprofit that uses advanced information technology to create efficiencies between donors and those in need, managing $1.5 billion annually with operations in six continents to 35,000 nonprofits.
