Green Building Projected For Major Growth

report, released recently at the Greenbuild International Conference and Expo. The value of green building construction starts was up five-fold from 2005 to 2008 (from $10 billion to $36-$49 billion), and could triple by 2013, reaching $96-$140 billion. This report estimates the value of the U.S. green building market over the next five years based on data found in the McGraw-Hill Construction Network.
ASPE Begins Wentink College of Fellows
At its 2008 bienniel Convention in Long Beach, CA, the American Society of Plumbing Engineers inaugurated the Kenneth G. Wentink College of Fellows and inducted the first 20 Fellows. These plumbing industry professionals and ASPE members were selected for their significant, sustained contributions to the plumbing engineering and design profession, the Society, and/or the plumbing industry in the areas of contracting and manufacturing. Watts Water Technologies has announced that Jim Erhardt
[photo] has joined Watts in the position of national market manager for its line of hydronic heating products. His responsibilities will include new product development and management, technical product training, and coordination of marketing activities of hydronic and specialty products.
Rheem Mfg. Co. has promoted Mike Barnes to director of residential national accounts, reflecting the company's drive to service the builder community. Barnes will identify future trends in the building industry by working closely with builders, Rheem product development and the sales team. He will also continue to manage the national account specialist team that covers the new-home construction market. |
