This past week I attended my fourth NFPA Conference & Expo, which was held at McCormick Place in nearby Chicago. Besides the usual excellent educational seminars, lively tradeshow floor and informative press events, there was an outstanding outdoor sprinkler demonstration.

I believe everyone should see this video — not just people in the fire protection industry.

Lasting a little over three minutes, this video shows the effectiveness of sprinklers much better than any campaign component I’ve ever seen.

We’ve heard for a very long time that a picture says a thousand words.

My hope is that this video will convince government authorities of the benefit of — and need for — sprinklers, thereby (hopefully) saving thousands of lives.
