Two webinars in 10 days…the shortest timeframe ever between presentations in the pme MEC Webinar series.
And well worth the short wait. [If you’d like to hear for yourself — and you weren’t able to attend either event — just

On Sept. 22 and Oct. 1, John Siegenthaler, P.E., presented separate webinars on “Hydronic Options for High Capacity Domestic Water Heating: The Best Mix of Instantaneous Capacity and Storage” and “Integrating Geothermal Heat Pumps Into Hydronic Heating/Cooling Systems,” respectively.
I was fortunate enough to moderate the webinars, and like the hundreds (combined) who attended, gained some great insights into these topics.
For example, from the Hydronic Options webinar I learned:
* Why the hydronics approach is superior to both instantaneous water heating and massive storage-type systems;
* How to configure and control a high capacity domestic water heating subsystem; and
* How that subsystem can be easily expanded to handle several other common heating loads.
And this week’s presentation on Geothermal Heat Pumps provided insights on many things, including:
* How to design systems that provide both hydronic heating and chilled water cooling;
* Which systems are design-appropriate for both residential and larger commercial applications; and
* The latest hydronics technology used to enhance performance of such systems.
To date, there’s been 12 Webinars in the MEC Series. And more are planned for next year.
Let’s see, 2010 is just a few months away.
Let the (short) countdown begin…
