Donald C. Devine, president and chief executive officer of American Standard Brands, recently signed a Statement of Support for the National Guard and Reserve. This statement has pledged:

  • To recognize and support Reserve and National Guard service members and their families in peace, in crises and in war.

  • To assure that the company's managers and supervisors will have the tools they need to effectively manage those employees who serve in the Guard and Reserve.

  • To fully recognize, honor and enforce the Uniformed Services Employment and Re-Employment Rights Act (USERRA).

In addition to the Statement of Support signing, Devine received the prestigious "Seven Seals Award" from Assistant Secretary Dennis M. McCarthy. The Seven Seals Award is the only Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) award that bridges both the employer and the ESGR volunteer recognition awards program. It was created by ESGR to publicly recognize individuals who provide significant achievement, initiative or support that promotes and supports the ESGR mission.
